Anemometer
This instrument is used for measuring the wind speed and these readings will be helpful in calculating the losses in solar water and air heating systems.
Digital PH meter
This instrument is used for measuring the PH value of the water and other fluids that we use in the experimental setup.
Digital Infrared Thermometer
( 500C – 30000C )
This instrument is used for measuring the temperature by shooting the infrared rays on to the surface for which the temperature has to be measured.
Handheld PH / Conductivity meter
This instrument is used for measuring both the PH and thermal conductivity of water and other fluids that we use in experimentation
Infrared Thermometer with Timer
( -200C – 5000C)
This instrument is used for measuring the temperature both in manual controlled environment and also automatic controlled environment by setting the recording time
Pyranometer
This instrument is used for measuring the Beam, Diffused, and Global components of radiation that is connected to a multimeter and these values are collected in millivolts and can be converted into W/m2 directly through formulae. These readings are useful in the efficiency computations of Flat Plate Collector, Concentrating collector.
Sunshine Recorder
This instrument is used for measuring the day length and this value is used for computation of Daily Global radiation that is falling on a surface.
This instrument is used for determining the direction in which the wind is blowing and this is connected to a generator that is coupled to a motor which pumps water for the department uses for 24 hours.
This setup is used for heating the water. Heating is done by concentration of the incident solar flux on to an axis of aparaboloidal shaped aluminum sheet. This setup stands as an example for forced convection heating of water
This setup is to demonstrate how the cooling of electronic equipment can be done by the use of fins which reject heat into the atmosphere effectively.
This setup is to demonstrate how the heat transfer takes place along the conical surface and this can be extended to rotation of the cone.
Flat Plate Collector (Water and Air Heating)
This setup is used for heating the water and circulating naturally through the circuit. In the air heating the air is circulated naturally by gaining the heat from the sun.
PV water pumping system
This setup is used to charge the battery or to produce the power required to run the motor that pumps the water from depths.
This setup is used to charge the battery that lightens the indoor lamps of particular wattage
This setup is used to boil the water that is taken in the bowls provided for experimentation. This setup is provided with a booster mirror arrangement, which reflects the radiation on to the surface, coated black
This setup is used to constantly remove the water vapour from the vegetables or fruits and dry them uniformly by means of a fan powered by a PV panel
Weather Station (Rainwise corporation, USA)
This setup is used to determine the wind speed direction in which wind is blowing, the amount of rainfall, the amount of radiation falling and can monitor the whole day variation in different parameters
